***Joslin Jewels***

http://www.etsy.com/teams/6281/wire-artisans-guild )

También he comenzado recientemente a escribir tutoriales.

ENTREVISTA ORIGINAL
Would you like to tell us your name?
Sheridan Joslin

How old are you?
44

What country are you born?
USA

Where do you live now?
Beautiful Bainbridge Island, Washington in the Pacific Northwest. My quaint little island is just a short ferry ride from Seattle.

When did you start with this hobby?
When I was working full-time. I've always been a creative person. When I found myself in a job that did not allow me to be creative, I decided that I needed to pursue an artistic hobby. Once I discovered jewelry making, specifically wire work, I was smitten.

How did you start?
I purchased books, magazines, and anything I could get my hands on to learn wire working techniques.

Who are three artists who inspire you the most?
Just three? There are too many to name, but I will say that my co-members of the Etsy Wire Artisans Guild are a constant source of inspiration. ( You can find a list of members here: http://www.etsy.com/teams/6281/wire-artisans-guild )

How many hours a week do you dedicate to this hobby?
I don't always keep track, but I will admit that it consumes almost all of my free time.

Is this more than your hobby? Is it your job?
Wire working started out at a hobby, but has become my job. I quite my day job to stay at home and raise my children. Once they started school full time, I decided to take my passion for jewelry making and turn it into a business.

What other hobbies do you have?
I enjoy drawing and paper crafts. I also play guitar (though not well) and sing. I like just about anything creative really, but jewelry making is what I like most.

Would you like to tell us a little bit more about you?
I live with my husband, two children, and adorable dog. I am happy with my life and thankful everyday for the opportunities allowed me. That said, I find myself never completely satisfied--especially when it comes to jewelry making. I am constantly seeking new knowledge and often study historic and contemporary jewelry designs and designers. The knowledge I gain both inspires me and influences me.
I've also recently started writing tutorials. I can't tell you how much I appreciate jewelry designers who have been generous enough to share their tips and techniques. Learning from them has helped me greatly so I thought I should share some of my tips and techniques too.
