El Blog de Sylvia Windhurst es todo un descubrimiento, en él podemos ver, aparte de sus creaciones con abalorios que también están en su galería de Flickr, varios interesantes tutoriales, algunas creaciones de ganchillo y bastantes modelos con alambre en sus primeros tiempos.

¿País de nacimiento? ¿País de residencia?
Nací en Estados Unidos, vivo en el estado de Rhode Island en los EE.UU.

¿Cuánto hace que empezaste con esta afición? Cuéntanos como empezaste.
Empecé mi carrera artística como pintora y grabadora, y he trabajado como artista gráfico durante muchos años. Me interesé por los abalorios hace 2 años. Quería hacer algunas joyas para mí, y así es originalmente cómo empecé.

Dinos 3 artistas que te inspiren.
Carol Huber Cypher - Suelo usar su libro Mastering Beadwork para buscar un poco de inspiración.
Me encanta el trabajo Marcie Abney - He estado siguiendo su blog durante un tiempo y me gusta su sentido del color.
Sandi (Ruby) Fischer tiene un maravilloso blog donde comparte mucha información sobre abalorios.
Realmente aprecio a todo aquel que se toma un tiempo para compartir sus conocimientos con el público.

¿Cuántas horas dedicas a la semana a esta afición? ¿Te dedicas profesionalmente a esto?
Trabajo por lo menos 15 horas a la semana - Tengo un trabajo a tiempo completo como artista gráfico por lo que sólo puedo disponer de estas horas después de trabajar cada día.

¿Qué otras aficiones tienes?
También me gusta el ganchillo, la cocina y la jardinería.

¿Quieres contarnos algo mas de tu vida?
Estoy casada y tengo una hija.

Would you like to tell us your name?

Sylvia Windhurst

What country are you born? Where do you live now?
Born in the USA, live in the state of Rhode Island in the USA.

When did you started with this hobby? How did you started?
I actually started out my artistic career as a painter and printmaker, and have worked as a graphic artist for many years. I became interested in beadwork 2 years ago. I wanted to make some jewelry for myself, and that is originally how I got started.

Who are three artists who inspire you the most?
Carol Huber Cypher - I use her book Mastering Beadwork quite a bit for inspiration.
I love Marcie Abney's work - I have been following her blog for a little while now and really like her sense of color.
Sandi (Ruby) Fischer has a wonderful blog where she shares so much information about beading. I really appreciate anyone who takes the time to share their knowledge with the public.

How many hours a week do you dedicate to this hobby? Is this more than your hobby? Is it your job?
I work at least 15 hours a week on my beading - I do have a full time job as a graphic artist so I can only fit in so many hours of beading after work each day.

What other hobbies do you have?
I also enjoy crochet, cooking and gardening.

Would you like to tell us a little bit more about you?
I am married and have a daughter.
