ENTREVISTA
¿Quieres decirnos tu nombre?
Hola, me llamo Andreea Bololoi.

ENTREVISTA ORIGINAL
Would you like to tell us your name?
Hello, my name is Andreea Bololoi.

How old are you?
I’m 22 and a half.

What country are you born?
I was born in Romania.

Where do you live now?
I’m still living in Romania, in a small but beautiful city in the west, Timisoara.

When did you start with this hobby?
I’ve started working with beads and wire in 2008. In the meantine, it became more than a hobby.

How did you start?
I saw an online gallery of a girl from Portugal, who was making colorful handmade jewelry using wire. I’ve never seen something similar and I was very curious to try that myself. The handmade marketplace wasn’t very extended in Romania back then, or I wasn’t aware of that and the idea of making handmade jewelry was really appealing to me. Soon after I’ve started showing my works through my blog, I’ve got positive feedback and that determined me to move on, develop my skills and find my personal style.

Who are three artists who inspire you the most?
I admire and follow the blogs of many artists, but I’ll mention here only the ones that in my opinion, have great skills in wirework, huge talent and amazing designs: Strukova Elena, Nancy Wickman (Wickwire Jewelry) and Taniri Design (sorry, don’t know her real name).

How many hours a week do you dedicate to this hobby?
As many as I can. I’ve graduated the Fine Arts and Design Faculty, and now I’m in my first year at MA classes, in Graphics. I love jewelry design as well as graphic design or drawing, and that’s why I have to make time for both.

Is this more than your hobby? Is it your job?
I think it became more than a hobby, it’s my passion, but I couldn’t say that I can make a living out of it for now. My dream is to make jewelry design a full-time job in the near future. I cannot wait to finish my MA, so I can dedicate 100% to my creations.

What other hobbies do you have?
I like to go to art exhibitions, to go camping in the mountains, I collect fridge magnets from all over the world, I like to travel and many more.

Would you like to tell us a little bit more about you?
I am a perfectionist and I try to do my best in everything. I consider this a quality because it reflects on my works. I can spend hours on a jewelry and hurt my fingers, but if the final piece will satisfy me completly, then it all worthed. I highly finish my jewelry and my customers notice and appreciate that. I constantly try to improve my businesses image and look as professional as I can.
I love art of any kind and I like new challenges. Maybe that’s why you can apparently see different styles in my jewelry, but they all have a personal distinctive touch.
