ENTREVISTA
¿Quieres decirnos tu nombre?
Susan Pierle

¿Cuántos años tienes?
55

¿País de nacimiento?
EE.UU.

¿País de residencia?
Black Forest, Colorado USA

¿Cuánto hace que empezaste con esta afición?
1992

Siempre he querido crear con objetos encontrados.

USA

Where do you live now?
Black Forest, Colorado USA

When did you start with this hobby?
1992

How did you start?
I started making jewelry with sea shells I found on the beaches of Florida back in the 70's. I have always loved creating with found objects.
I have also drawn, painted, etched, silk screened and done basket weaving, but once I picked up the beads I fell in love.
I did a lot of the indian beadwork style and designs starting out, then I found Sadie Starr's book on Beading with cabachons and seed beads and it changed my world. I beaded around everything, and people wanted to buy it.

Who are three artists who inspire you the most?
Oh, there are so many!!
Sadie Starr for teaching me bead embroidery, Carol Wilcox Wells for showing the world early on what beading could be in her wonderful books and Sherrie Sarafini for the beauty of what beadwork is, with her designs and colors.

How many hours a week do you dedicate to this hobby?
40 to 50

Is this more than your hobby? Is it your job?
I have been selling my work for over 20 years but it has been my full time work 16 years.

What other hobbies do you have?
I love camping, hiking, photography, fusing glass, metalwork, sewing and gardening.

Would you like to tell us a little bit more about you?
I want to take my beading to another level and I think that now is the time. I have spent a lot of time doing what sells and what others want from me. I want to do what my heart wants and see what happens!!
