Comencé a crear con abalorios hace unos 11 años.

Cuéntanos como empezaste.
Mi madre y yo siempre veíamos cosas que nos gustaban y yo pensaba "yo puedo hacerlo". Así que empecé a aprender por mi misma todo lo que pude. Todavía estoy en ello después de 11 años.

¿Cuántas horas dedicas a la semana a esta afición?
Intento y pasó al menos 10 horas a la semana, pero a veces llego hasta a las 60 horas. Todo depende de en que proyectos esté trabajando en ese momento.

¿Te dedicas profesionalmente a esto?
Creo que en este momento se ha convertido en más de un hooby para mí. Realmente me molesta cuando no puedo encajar los abalorios en mi agenda. Me gustaría llegar al punto en el que lo pudiera considerar mi empleo, pero por ahora no paga las facturas.

¿Qué otras aficiones tienes?
Leer libros y diseñar patrones para otros artistas.

¿Quieres contarnos algo mas de tu vida?

Soy madre de 3 hijos maravillosos. He estado casada con mi impresionante esposo durante 13 años. Me encanta crear con abalorios y cualquier cosa relacionada con ellos. Un mal día para mi es aquel en el que no hay abalorios.

I currently live in the lovely city of Flagstaff Arizona. High in the mountains, we even get snow in the winter.

When did you started with this hobby?

I started beading about 11 years ago.

How did you started?

My mom and I were always seeing stuff we like and I thought I can do that. So I started to teach myself as much as I could. I am still at it 11 years later.

Who are three artists who inspire you the most?

Ty Wolf Designs- a wonderful designer who sells her patterns at : http://www.bead-patterns.com/ She taught me tons about designing.

Carrie Hill- www.possumalleypurdees.com/ She taught me to really think outside the box when brainstorming projects.

Barbara Sanderson-Designer Beadiebiz Designs at http://www.thebeadcoop.com/ She has been a great friend over the years and has helped push me to create when I didn't want to.

How many hours a week do you dedicate to this hobby?

I try and spent at least 10 hours a week, but sometimes it is as much as 60 hours. It all depends on what projects I am currently working on.

Is this more than your hobby? Is it your job?

I think at this point it has become more then a hooby for me. I really get upset when I can't work beading into my schedule. I would like to get to the point that I could consider it my job, but for now it doesn't pay the bills.

What other hobbies do you have?

Reading books and designing bead patterns for other beaders.

Would you like to tell us a little bit more about you?
I am a Mom of 3 wonderful children. I have been married to my awesome hubby for 13 years now. I love beading and anything bead related. A bad day for me is one that has no beads.

Cuéntanos como empezaste.
Hace aproximadamente 4 años y medio una amiga me llevó a una tienda de abalorios y me enseñó las técnicas básicas de enfilado de abalorios y me enseñó a hacer pendientes con alambre envuelto, una cosa llevó a la otra y ya era adicta, quiero conquistar una cosa y luego pasar a otra, y ví tantas joyas en la contraportada de mi catálogo de Fire Mountain, que supe que quería tejer con abalorios, y el resto es historia.

Sherry Hutchinson Serafini, Patricia Tager, y Heidi Kummli. Cada una de sus obras son mas bellas de lo que se puede expresar con palabras. Sólo puedo aspirar a ser una artista tan grande como ellas algún día.

¿Cuántas horas dedicas a la semana a esta afición?
Dejó de ser un hobby hace alrededor de 2 años y medio. Normalmente le dedico entre 10 y 12 horas todos los días a mi negocio.

¿Te dedicas profesionalmente a esto?
Yo no diría que es un trabajo, porque entonces suena como algo que tengo que hacer en vez de algo que quiero hacer. Es mi pasión, mi adicción, mi terapia y mi carrera.

¿Qué otras aficiones tienes?
Me encanta hacer fotografias, me gusta leer, me encanta jugar al "Guitar Hero", y me encanta jugar al "Dice City Rollers" en Pogo!!

¿Quieres contarnos algo mas de tu vida?
Llevo con mi marido 19 años, aunque casados desde hace 15. Tengo dos hijos maravillosos: mi hijo con 14 años y mi hija con 10. Creo en el poder del pensamiento positivo, y confio en la gente. Creo que la gratitud puede poner tu vida en erspectiva. Trato siempre de vivir mi vida sin remordimientos y llenarla siempre con tanto amor, arte, risa y diversión como puedo.

How did you started?
About 4 ½ years ago a friend took me into a bead store, she taught me how to do basic bead stringing and she taught me how to wire wrap earrings, one thing lead to another and I was addicted, I would conquer one thing and then move on to another, and I saw so jewelry on the back of one of the Fire Mountain Catalogs, and knew I wanted to do Beadweaving, and the rest is history.

Who are three artists who inspire you the most?
Sherry Hutchinson Serafini, Patricia Tager, and Heidi Kummli. Each of their works are beyond words beautiful!! I could only aspire to be as great an artist as them one day!

How many hours a week do you dedicate to this hobby?
It passed being a hobby about 2 ½ years ago. I usually invest about 10 to 12 hours every day towards my business.

Is this more than your hobby? Is it your job?
I wouldn’t say it’s a job, because then it sounds like it’s something I have to do vs. something I want to do. It is my passion, my addiction, my therapy, and my career.

What other hobbies do you have?
I really like taking pictures, I love to read, I love to play guitar hero, and I love playing “Dice City Rollers” on Pogo!!

Would you like to tell us a little bit more about you?
I’ve been with my husband for 19 years, however married for 15 years. I have two wonderfully loving children: son(14) and daughter(10). I believe in the power of positive thoughts, and taking people at their word. I believe gratitude can put life into perspective. I try to always live my life with no regrets and fill it with as much love and art and laughter and fun as I can.

Me encanta la moda y crear cosas bonitas. Mientras buscaba libros sobre el arte de crear joyas, compré uno de Sharilyn Miller sobre joyas con alambre, desde entonces nunca he parado de crear. El arte del alambre te da posibilidades infinitas de crear piezas de joyería atrevidas, elegantes y sobre las que no pasa el tiempo y todo ello sin necesidad de soldar.

I love fashion and create beautiful things. While searching for books in jewelry making, i bought book by Sharilyn Miller on wire jewelry, since then i never stop creating. Wire art gives the endless possibilities of creating bold, elegent and timeless pieces of jewelry without soldering.

Eni Oken, Iza Malczyk and Iza Mygypsy and many more.

What other hobbies do you have?
I like reading magazines and watching movies.

Im a very simple artist that love art and beauty so much. I dream and adore beautiful things. Im also a make up artist here in Malaysia.

Es irremediable, cada vez que vemos estas miniaturas hechas con arcilla polimérica nos remontamos a hace unos-bastantes-muchos años cuando éramos niñas y jugábamos a las comiditas.

Y es que por un lado es impresionante el realismo que consigue esta artista y por otro lado es de lo mas original el convertir estas piezas en joyas.

Stéphanie solo tiene 23 años y lleva creando hace menos de 2, es imposible imaginar hasta donde puede llegar esta chica.

Estaba aburrida :D no encontraba un trabajo de verano aquel año y me fuí con mis padres durante 7 semanas. Al segundo día ya estaba aburrida y me busqué un nuevo hobby. Encontré las miniaturas y luego la comida en minuatura. ¡Toda mi infancia vino corriendo! ¡Solía hacer comida en miniatura con plastilina cuando era pequeña!

¿Cuántas horas dedicas a la semana a esta afición?
Oh esta es un pregunta dificil porque tengo la intención de convertirlo en una forma de vida. Actualmente dedico alrededor de 3 días a la semana sólo a esculpir. Pero me lleva muchísimo tiempo mostrar mi trabajo, mantenerme activa en diferentes ambitos etc.

¿Te dedicas profesionalmente a esto?
Bueno espero que sea mi trabajo :) Por lo menos lo será durante un año a partir de septiembre, cuando termine mis estudios de arquitectura.

¿Qué otras aficiones tienes?
Me gustan mucho las muñecas. Tengo una gran debilidad por las pequeñas Ball Jointed Dolls, como las de Puki Puki o Lati. Tengo una Puki lila y acabo de comprar una Lati blanca muy bonita. También tengo una Blythe que cambié por comida en minuatura, pero a pesar de que me gusta un montón, es un poco grande para mi :)

¿Quieres contarnos algo mas de tu vida?
Siempre he sido una niña muy astuta y muy interesada por el arte. No es de extrañar que llegando al final de mis estudios de arquitectura prefiera ser una miniaturista, esta es mi parte de insensata. Pero descubrí en las miniaturas una verdadera pasión, sólo vivo para ello actualmente y es realmente duro volver a mis estudios y terminar mi master porque no me preocupa.

How did you started?
I was bored :D I didn't find a summer job this year and went to my parents during 7 weeks. I got bored the 2nd day and searched for a new hobby. I came accross miniatures and then miniature food. All my childhood ran back! I used to make miniature food out of normal clay when I was little!

How many hours a week do you dedicate to this hobby?
Oh that's a difficult question as I intend to make it a living. Right now I dedicate it about 3 days a week for sculpting only. But I take lots of time showing of my work, being active on different threads and so on.

Is this more than your hobby? Is it your job?
Well I hope it will be my job :)At least it will be during one year starting from september, when I finished my architecture studies.

What other hobbies do you have?
I like dolls pretty much. I have a big faible for tiny bjds, like puki puki's or lati's.I own a puki lily and just bought a lati white sp belle. I also own a Blythe, which I swapped against miniature food, but although I like her a lot, she's a bit too big for me :)

Would you like to tell us a little bit more about you?
I always have been a very crafty girl and very interested in art. It's not that surprising that arriving at the end of my architecture studies I would prefer being a miniaturist, also it's kind of insane.But I discovered in miniatures a real passion, I only live for it right now and it's really hard to get back to my studies and finish my master because I don't care about it.

Siempre he amado las cosas dulces y las cosas que brillan y me di cuenta rápidamente que el trabajo con resina era el mejor medio para mi.

La creación de joyas se ha convertido en una obsesión para mi. Siempre he tenido interés en ella, pero me llevó un tiempo llevar mis visiones a la realidad.

No estoy segura de lo que me depara el futuro, pero me encantaría usar otros medios algún día, como el vidrio!.

Lo hago a tiempo completo. ...Quizá 60 horas o mas a la semana se las dedico a mi galería y mi tienda en Etsy...Es mucho mas que un trabajo a tiempo completo.

¿Qué otras aficiones tienes?
Me encanta ir a lo que yo llamo "La caza del Tesoro". Realmente disfruto buscando artículos únicos en tiendas de segunda mano, tiendas de antigüedades y en tiendas online.

Me encanta coleccionar cosas horteras y mi nuevo hobby es coleccionar muñecas antiguas.

¿Quieres contarnos algo mas de tu vida?
Mi pasión es el arte, la fotografía, y la creación de joyas.
Me gradué en la Wayne State University en diciembre de 2005 con un BFA en fotografía.
Tengo que decir que he sido una artista toda mi vida.
Creo que nací con un lápiz en la mano.

Actualmente estoy casada con un tipo llamado Joe y llevamos juntos desde noviembre de 1999. También somos la mamá y el papa de dos perros, un min-pin llamado Jojo y un pekinés llamado Bianca.

Espero poder mudarme algún día a Las Vegas y salir de Michigan.

How old are you?
I just turned 28 years old last month.

What country are you born?
Detroit, MI USA

Where do you live now?
Suburbs of Detroit.

When did you started with this hobby?
A couple years ago.

How did you started?
I have always had a love for all things sweet and all things that sparkle and I quickly realized that working with resin was the best medium for me. Creating jewelry has become an obsession of mine. I always had an interest in it and it took me awhile to get started with making my visions a reality. I'm not sure what the future has in store for me but I would love to pursue other mediums someday~ like glass!

How many hours a week do you dedicate to this hobby? Is beading more than your hobby? Is it your job?
I do this fulltime... maybe 60 hours or so a week I devote to my craft and my Etsy shop.... it's a lot more than just a fulltime job.

What other hobbies do you have?
I love going on what I call treasure hunts. I really enjoy looking for unique items at thrift-stores, antique shops, and online. I love collecting kitschy things and my new hobby is collecting old dolls.

Would you like to tell us a little bit more about you?
My passion lies in art, photography, and creating jewelry. I graduated from Wayne State University in Dec. 2005 with a BFA in photography. I would have to say that I have been an artist my entire life. I think I was born with a crayon in my hand.I am currently married to a guy named Joe and we've been together since November of '99. We are also the mommy and daddy to two dogs~ a minpin named Jojo and a pekingese named Bianca.We hope to move out to Las Vegas someday and get out of Michigan!
